Nv3550 to ax-15

I was wondering if there are any special steps, parts, adapters and the like required to swap a NV3550 out and install an AX-15 in its place? I have the typical 03 sport with the NP231 transfer case. Sad that the 3550 is a dog. I had a NV4500 mated to a BBC and it was a spectacular gearbox.

Nothing needed. Direct swap. You can even use the NV3550 bell housing on the AX15.

Quick google search would have told you that. [emoji6] That’s how I found out all of the info I needed when I did the swap.

There is a really nice write up I found that some guy did all sorts of measurements to confirm everything. I honestly don’t remember where. But somewhere online.

When you post it in your browser window I think you have to add a period or something. Their forum banned links to us and then we banned links to them, i dont know. When you copy it here it automatically breaks the link.
