Transmission wont shift anymore. Wife was driving it(she drives a stick well) and taking some girls on a little ride. Was turning left when the transmission wouldnt shift into third gear. She lost some speed so she tried shifting into second and managed to get into second gear. She noticed the clutch pedal was spongy and immediately pulled off to the side when she could. She managed to get it out of second but now it wont shift into any gear. Almost feels like the clutch pedal isnt attached to anything. Its like trying to push it into gear without pushing in the clutch. It will shift through all the gears when the jeep is turned off but im at a loss as to what to do other than take it to a trany shop(really hate the only one close by and dont have any money to spend on parts let alone labor). Any trouble shooting ideas?

I have an 02 standard as well, and it is indeed the NV3550.

I'm going through problems with mine as well, though not the same as yours. Somewhere simple to start is the clutch master cylinder, and checking for fluid there.

Did you open the top on yours and check the fluid level? I wouldn't order one just yet...

It could be any number of things. I'm no transmission expert, so my advice is very limited. I'd start with things like fluids that are really easy to check (and free!), then go from there.

If its fluid coming back up, I think that's normal. If its air bubbles, I'm not so sure. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in you you.

So i have the whole system and cant manage to get the dang thing routed through where nothing is kinked or up against heat. Ive tried 5-6 different ways at running it through and cant figure anything out. Any one able to take a snapshot of the way their factory line is run? Or can explain it?
