Oak Bar Build

This started out as getting a big stack of free Oak flooring. Wondering what I would do with it, I decided I'd build a bar and use it for the bar top. The scope of that project, like most projects, exploded in scope and I went from making a very simple bar to building an 8' Oak bar with adjustable shelving, mini-fridge space, power strip, and 2 expoxied tops.

Starting the Adjustable Shelving

Shelving installed. The empty spot on the left if for the mini-fridge.

Starting on the lower top with my "free flooring." Had to glue the first run down nice and straight. Little did I know, with the rising price of lumber, this project would be anything but budget.

Top stained and attaching the drip rail to hold epoxy and spilt drinks on the top without it spilling off the bar.

I had recently adopted her. That's pretty much where she stayed the whole time... right in the dang way.

Drip rail to hole the epoxy, plus a little extra to hold spilt drinks on the top and off of the floor.

Test fitting the oak bar rail molding. Good enough. It was glued down and screwed in from the bottom.

man thats sweeet ! is that glass on the top or did you clearcoat it ? looks like glass or 20 coats of clear !

Thanks man! It's two part epoxy. It's about 1/8" deep, maybe 3/16".Its pretty neat in that it's self leveling. Pretty much mix it up in a bucked and pour it in there. Easy to clean.

The first time I had a couple folks over to give it a test run, I turn my back and then next thing I know there's a chick on all fours twerking on the bartop. Had something broke, I think I would have..
