When turning my key to run without starting my oil pressure guage will climb about 3/8 up the guage then goes up to about 5/8 after starting. Could my pressure sensor be bad? Is this the dummy guage? Why does it do this
Oil pressure goes up when engine is off

It should be at zero with the key on and engine not running. Probably a bad sensor it's not uncommon.
