Hello gang.
2003 TJ
2.4L PowerTech, 5-speed

Yesterday I drove the TJ during the day and all was fine. In the evening I started it and got the CHECK GAUGES light and saw oil pressure was at the L mark. No funny sounds, knocks, etc. and it ran smooth. I did some searching and found these have issues with the oil pressure switch.

I went to CarQuest today and got a new switch (BWD S4178), threaded that in, and no change because the cluster gauge still didn't move. I did confirm with the key off the gauge needle is below L and when turned to the ON position it moves up, so that means at least the cluster gauge is getting power/signal. My next step was to borrow a mechanical gauge from a friend to check actual live pressure. However, I did some more searching and found info on a 3-wire OP switch. I found a 3-wire harness and connector next to the oil filter, unplugged it, reseated the connected, then start the Jeep and suddenly the gauge worked.

So which switch (sending unit) is what? The one on the side of the block has a single wire. Does one feed the gauge and the other go to the ECM?
