I have a 2002 Sahara TJ 4.0 and my oil pressure stays between 45 and 50 at idle and running yesterday while driving I had to check gauges light come on . It appeared it would come on when the oil pressure got to 50 and go off if I stopped and it dropped back down to 45.
170,000 miles oil/ filter done 1000 miles ago.

Verify the oil pressure transducer oil pressure port does not have sludge in the orifice.
If there is no sludge in the port and there is nothing wrong with the sensor wiring; then it is time to replace the oil pressure transducer near the oil filter.

Thank you!
I checked the connection where the wires are it was spotless. I hit it with the air hose. I get a sensor. Mopar one the best option?

Might also want to verify with a mechanical gauge while you have the sensor out Lot of auto parts shops rent them. I bought one off Amazon.

Mopar was the only sensor that worked for me.

Thank you!
So if my oil pressure is at 40ar idle and 50 when I’m going 50 mph is that normal? Or would that cause the check gauges alarm to come on . Or could it be something else. It appeared that when I slowed back down and my oil pressure dropped back down below 50 the light went off.🤷‍♂️

The oil pump has a blow off valve set at 75 PSI. As far as I know high oil pressure won't trigger a check gauges light.

Below 10 psi according to the PCM I think...but that depends on the accuracy of the sender. Verify with a mechanical gauge.
