Old school KC lights or full light bar?

You can get the best of both worlds with LED replacement inserts for the classic KC lights.
PO had some original KC daylighters installed that fit the jeep perfectly — but I did not like the dim halogen lamps. It was very easy to drop in these inserts and now I have bright LED's with a nice warm-white color temp that only draw about 1.6amps each. Not as cheap as just changing the bulbs, but since I already had the KC "shells", it was worth it.

If you get a chance, can you take a picture of the beam pattern at night? This is something I would consider purchasing.

Sure thing! It's raining here the next few days - but as soon as it clears I'll try and get some good photos. They have three options (Wide40, Driving, and Spot). I believe I went with "Driving" as it was street legal and was a nice balance of width and distance. I would also recommend purchasing the replacement rubber ring (mine was brittle and falling apart.). The new rubber with the new lens and cleaned up chrome made them feel brand new.

Now, consider this fine example of period correctness- 7 auxiliary lights, 5 have smiley faces. You don’t even have to turn these on to get attention. Sure kids giggle and 14 year old girls are smitten by it, but like Elvis with a white polyester sequined jump suit with an 8” collar, it has class.

Class is class but it's not always the same class.

None above the windshield? Highest Class!

I haven't had a chance to use the Hella 140's (on the windshield hinges) other than around town, but the Truck-Lite LED replacements and Rigid SAE Fog cubes are stupidly bright and have a very nice color to them (near daylight)...

The Hella's were a gift from my boss - taken off his old rally car when he lived in Argentina. So far it seems like I have plenty of light for on-road and trails, so I won't be replacing them anytime soon. That said, I may ask Santa for a set of KC Pro6 LEDs to replace the Hellas this year just to see...

I never thought about the wind noise!

I have a buddy that put a light bar on his Jeep and he told me the wind noise was so loud it was nauseating and literally made him ill.
He took it off. lol

You can't have enough light bars on a JK. They're not TJ approved unless you have a very angry grille to go with them.

Is it part of the SETI program?
