I keep a cheap 10'x10' tarp folded up and some paracord stuffed away in pretty much very car. To me, a tarp is a rather universal tool most people should have. Use it to slide on the ground, cover something or part of a vehicle, cut it into strips to cover a damaged window, build a make shift tent, etc..

Good idea and now I have something to do with all those free harbor freight tarps I got over the years.
