OPDA timing / alignment issues?

The slot is just the oil pump drive.

IIRC you put the slot at 11 o'clock or so to get the OPDA to drop in the "normal" location.

The only thing that really matters is the engine is at TDC on 1 and the OPDA is pinned.

So the slot doesn't matter, just the gear alignment?

As long as the motor is at TDC.
