I'd at least put grip tape on the block.

Nope, I never have. It won't fit over the 2x4. I'd keep it in a drawer someplace though. I just have the 2x4 there.

I would put the original equipment rubber clutch pad in the center console or glove box or sell it if u plan to keep ur Jeep 4 life..like lots of us....

Chunk the clutch pad in the console where it won't get lost
