P0122 after washing engine

PCM’s connections are clean and MAF/MAP connection is clean, looks like I’m in for a TPS.

Picking up the TPS from MOPAR McKinney today. See if that fixed it, I went back and scrambled the computer proper again after your post. Wound up getting a deal for the TPS by ordering online, only like 60 bucks. So that really beats the 80 on amazon or the 92MSRP. Probably throw it in on the lot and see if that solves my problem, I’ll keep you updated, thanks for the help.

Just threw in the censor and cleared the codes. Sure enough, no more check engine light. I want to take her for a decent drive before I pronounce her officially fixed, but that seems to have done the trick. Can’t believe I killed the sensor.

now to go try and fix that A/C issue, compressor keeps cutting out, but only when the Jeep has been running for a while and is up to temp. just got charged so I figure got to be electrical, should be some fun times finding that.

Jeeps are never fixed, there just less broken.

Hey King, how's the Mopar tps working out? I've got the same issue, tried a cheap tps and still have same sputtering and codes. Ordered a Mopar part to replace myself, along with IAC sensor.

Why is it only on the internet you find people adamant that touching the battery cables together fixes problems?

Mopars been great. Threw it in at the dealership parking lot and cleared the computer. It hasn’t given me any problems since. And the Jeep seems to idle lower and run “peppeyer” then I’ve seen before, but that could just be me.

that is the closest dealer ship to me, and the “order parts online” function saved me about 30 bucks from what the delaer ship quoted when I called in.

I’m not sure why the battery cables in particular, sometimes if you have a small problem that’s being a pain to track it can help, re-set any problems with the “tune” in the Jeep, and just give you a solid ground to work with.

99% of the time it’s just cause the don’t have a good code reader I think. Rarely has doing the battery trick done anything that erasing the codes didn’t.

most of the time when you clear a code and it dosent come back, your just buying time. Sometimes there a one-off fluke but most often not. I get wanting to have a persistent code before you drop 600 on a CAT though. (my current problem)

Just dropping this here years later, but this is the top post on this error.

Under the hood there’s an engine inspection light. If that connection comes off, it throws the same error. Check that also, was my case and so happy I found it.
