Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006) Replacement PCMs

Dodge, Chryslers and Jeeps are no strangers to circuit board issues. Specifically the 2005-06 TJ PCM problem, which unfortunately without a recall, legal action, or support from the manufacturer has left many Jeep owners stranded.
That is until now!
Because the stock Jeep PCM’s cannot simply be rebuilt, this was not an easy fix for us. (Same exact issue with 06-07 SRT-8 Grand Cherokees that we also solved!) When the 05-06 TJ PCM fails, it’s virtually impossible to repair. I equate it to trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I sent the OEM PCM to two major repair companies that came BACK with the same conclusion: DOA
Here’s what we did to solve the issue:
  • Purchased an 05 Wrangler
  • Purchased a working PCM ($2500.00 at the time)
  • Our techs identified a Chrysler OEM part that most closely mimics the 05-06 TJ’s and configured the hardware and software to come up with the only true Wrangler PCM Fix!
It’s important to mention that because of the software configuration, our PCM’s will not support tuners, superchargers or updates/flashes from the dealer. However, it will perform all functions of the OEM PCM and pass emissions in every state!

Hello Mark, i must not be using this interface correctly. I responded asking if you reprogram ecm…

Fs1 is stalling again and not responding to my request.

What does your fix cost? What does it include(warranty etc)?

It sounds as though FS1 has put you through enough down time and torment so there will be no charge for fixing your pcm. It will be done same day and on its way back to you. Your "lifetime" warranty is still with FS1 so hopefully you do not have any future issues.

Please send me a PM with tracking when you can.

All the best,

Mark Cantrell

Hey guys,
I replaced my PCM the other week. The emissions drivers were dead.
I have a 2006 Rubicon manual trans. The code I'm getting is P0888. As far as I can find this code is for a automatic trans.
Am I wrong? Is there a fix I can do before I scream and yell at a Sales people?

Hello Northvgorgiarider, did you ever get the po888 error code resolved? Mine is persistent. Thanks

Did you find a solution? I'm having the same code after being sold a new ECM

What was the end result of this? I'm having the same issue with my manual 05' 4.0 Sport. Wouldn't turn over just thought I ran it low on gas and had clogged fuel filter. Mechanic replaced crank and cam sensors but it still shut off after a couple of minutes. Then told me to have PCM replaced. Found flagship one online and they sent me a reprogrammed PCM. Replaced it, started right up, runs great and took it to DMV for inspection and it failed because of P0888 code. WTH? Crazy.

I'm having the same problem, got my ECM from ModuleExperts out of Florida. Anyone else do not trust that company.

The code is in the PCM and cannot be programmed out or removed. If you are in an emissions state, you will not pass because of that code.

I just purchased my first TJ, a 2006 2.4l with 6-Speed Manual, in British Columbia Canada.
I used my Code Reader and got the PO888 code, but no lights on the dash to show there is an issue.
The symptom is an Intermittent Idle. It'll just trip over itself and then go back to normal.

I am curious if there is a way to determine if the ECM is the wrong one?

The pcm is looking for an automatic transmission. It will not cause any drivability issues but will linger in the background. You will not pass emissions with that code if you have it. Whose computer is it?

The previous owner paid for the ECM to replace the one that he damaged. The TJ is now mine and I am excited to get it on the road, but It idles with a "Miss" that I can't seem to diagnose. I was thinking the ECM Error Code was causing the issue.
