Panic: shifter just moving back and forth, can't start

Ajrango linked the part you need above.

You could also call the local Chrysler dealer.

Advanced auto has a doorman (help) kit that that has a bunch of different ones in it. I don’t remember the part number. It’s like 5 dollars or something so not a big loss if it doesn’t fit. That will work if you’re in a hurry. But like I said the OEM one fits the best.

I did a search on autozone and advanced auto and there is nothing particular to my model jeep. Is this a general part that a clerk can look up?

The Mopar part # is 68137495AA. Dorman 14041 is an assortment that comes up for the 2003-2006 TJ.

really? Ok. I would like to at least get it started, will this do the trick? It seems to be stuck in reverse.

Yes. Same thing happened to me. 2 zip ties will work.

not my picture. And, I did the Rev 2 fix. https://bit.ly/3lAbKsa

gonna try this tonight. Two questions: zip ties go into the holes that the bushing would go through? Does the shifter itself need to be in any particular spot?

I did mine in a parking lot, and I was in Park. I left the broken piece in the arm/attachment and zip tied it just like the picture (it wan't through the hole).
