My Jeep is in the shop right now, so I’m using my Econoline van. Monday night it started misfiring and the engine light was flashing. I used my Torque app and got code P0306. This wasn’t good. I’m a therapist and had appointments all day the next day plus a group therapy session Tuesday night and I was supposed to take the van on a trip for the holiday Wednesday morning. O’reilly’s was open at 7:30am so I got some fuel injector cleaner hoping that would solve the problem but of course it didn’t.
A little surfing on the net on company time revealed that the most likely cause was a bad coil. A little more research showed that Advance Auto Parts right down the street from my group had the part in stock. They had the store brand as well as a Motorcraft part which i was able to pick up at 7:30 at night in a rural town in Virginia. I got a 20% discount by ordering online which I did before I went into the group which brought it closer to what I would typically pay if I ordered online and waited a few days which wasn’t an option.
I installed the part in about 20 minutes Wednesday morning and left on time for my trip.
