Phone Mounting

I'm using a RAM mount X grip. I have the adhesive ball stuck to my overhead console which has worked the best.

The ball seems to break off every 1.5 years or so. I just buy a new ball with adhesive on Amazon for $13.50 when it does.

I tried a bracketron mount + 1" ball that installs to the right of the radio. Looked like a good idea, but it shakes too much to be useful. That was a waste of money.

I used RAM x-mount for a long time and its been great. Last Christmas GF got me a Quadlock case and a mount for my bicycle. Its is really nice. I recently decided to take a chance and got the 1" ram ball mount for my Quadlock, and a wireless charging head to go with it. I will report back once it all shows up!
I also got a standard windshield suction cup mount but the Jeep glass is too steep for it so it went in a different car.

The mount showed up yesterday, it's totally got one of those balljoints after all. Guess I wasn't paying attention but probably for the best since the jeep dash isn't very flat. It is metal at least. The magnets are super strong for how thin they are so I have high hopes. Going to wait until it's not on stands on the frame to try it out stay tuned

I just throw mine in the glovebox where there's a charging cord. Assuming I remember to bring it in the 1st place...

Building a ball and rail setup from Ebay stuff. Similar to the 67 Designs, but a lot cheaper.
I'll post pictures if I get it all figured out.

So my Carmount is in and I've already mounted it. Hard to get a pic of my phone in the holder while using my phone, but here's where I mounted it.

I wanted to mount it on the left, but it was in the way getting into 1st. Not in the way as much for 5th. It's just flat enough right there for the little base. I'm still surprised by how strong the magnet is on my phone case for being paper thin. It's held on over speedbumps so far, we'll see this weekend how it works off road. For 20$ I'm super happy with it, insane marketing aside

edit: After a few wheeling trips it hangs on really well. It's fallen off 3x I think and that's mostly my fault. It's really nice to be able to basically chuck my phone over there when wheeling and it'll stick on on any angle.
