Pioneer AVH3500NEX in-dash receiver

I have found a ton of information on here about upgrading the sound system, Thank you! I was curious if anyone has installed the Pioneer AVH3500NEX In-dash receiver. It’s a single DIN with a 7” flip up display. Anyone have or had this or something similar?

I have the 4400NEX in my JKU, which appears to have very similar operation, and I can highly recommend the Pioneer NEX series. Obviously I can't speak to the single-DIN flip up display, aside from the obvious fact that the flip up ends up flipping directly in front of the vents, which may or may not be what you want.

I noticed that and I don’t think I would have any real issues with that, I just wonder if having hot or cold air blowing on the back of the screen may cause issues down the line.

Well cold air would be great for it. Hot air is generally best when using the lower vents not the upper vents so I wouldnt think there would be any problems.

As someone already mentioned, when the screen it out, it blocks the air in the vents from reaching you.

Have you looked at the floating screen single DIN receivers? The floating touch screen can be mounted in many different positions, although it will either block your HVAC vents or HVAC Controls.

I run a avic-600EX in our TJ. It is double din but like it. I have a avic-7200NEX (w/GPS) in my pick up. The two are very similar so it is easy to and natural to run both. I like the pioneer avic units.

There is a difference in the later model bezels, but I bought the later to fit my early due to the switch panel I installed. The update to apple car play that was done in the last few months really made the feature usable and pleasant.

We have looked at just modifying to fit a double-DIN too, we will take a look that those! It didn’t seem like it would be that difficult to convert to that.

I put a link at the bottom to my reply to the double din bezel I used. The early (pre03) had some stuff on the bottom I did not need so I went with the later (03 and up) version.

It is a Pioneer cam. ND-BC8. So far it has been good. We wheel pretty hard and it is always there when needed. I put the switch next to head unit on the under steering bezel.
