That's freakin awesome!
Still not gonna sell my LJ, ever!!!
Hopefully in both the 2door and 4door
Hopefully in the base model too.
This is thanks to all the prius driving tree huggers...look what happened to VW...those cars might have had a trick up the sleeve but still ran clean and got 40-50 mpg. That whole thing was not about the environment, rather money hungry a holes, in my opinion anyways...they tried killing the eco diesel too but thankfully chrysler fiat didn't have any hidden cheats...And hopefully in the United States (and North America). We've been screwed over here with no diesel Wrangler for so long.
do you guys do know that the Cummins is available now?
you can build a diesel TJ if you want one..and a lot cheaper then Jeep wants for a new Wrangler
you have to realize that 9K includes an alternator, starter, power steering pump, an engine wiring harness and ecm, etc..Yeah, I saw that. But still, it's 9k of the engine, and you're going to dump probably 4-5k into it for all the other stuff. So it's expensive, but yes, still cheaper than a new Wrangler!

it actually comes with most of the stuff needed to get it going..I was comparing the price pf getting a golen stroker close to the same point (with all the tins, alternator, starter, etc) and the prices were remarkably close
Yeah, you get lots of extras to make it an all new powertrain. When I put a new engine in my TJR the long block was $1800.00. Final bill all in with new clutch, since it was apart, new waterpump, rad and lots of other shit was $4600.00, including labor. So $9000.00 is a lot plus thats still in the crate. I used to love diesels, today, not so much. They are definitely not the wise choice $$$ wise. You just need to love diesels and have an open billfold.you have to realize that 9K includes an alternator, starter, power steering pump, an engine wiring harness and ecm, etc..

Absolutely. The world is out to kill the diesel. New tech is stupid. You want diesel.... you want a 20 year old diesel.Ive said it before. The only diesel I would put in a tj would be a 4bt. I would not touch a newer Diesel engine.

Yeah, you can't beat the old mechanical diesel engines. Sure they might rattle your teeth out, and you might loose your hearing, but I wouldn't have it any other way, lol.
