Okay so I have a 97 2.5L automatic 30RH jeep and it's been in a transmission shop 3 times back to back my problem is you turn the jeep on put it in drive. Once you drive about 30 feet or so it pops in to neutral but if you rev it up it'll pop back in gear anything helps please I just want it running right

What do you mean it "pops" into neutral or back into gear? Do you physically feel or hear it pop? Or does it just start slipping like it "slid into" neutral and then at some point starts being able to move the Jeep again?

Either shift linkage is out of rig or a servo is not working correctly

Yes that is exactly what it does It would act as if I put it back in drive like any vehicle

Have you checked its ATF level while the engine is running and the transmission is in Neutral? The engine MUST be running and the transmission MUST be in Neutral to get an accurate ATF level with the 30RH or 32RH automatic transmissions. The ATF level must be all the way to the hot full line or it can slip and feel like it's in Neutral. If it's low, insert a small funnel into the transmission's dipstick tube and add enough ATF+4 (no other type of ATF is correct) until it's all the way to the full mark. Where an automatic transmission is concerned it's far better to be slightly overfilled than even slightly underfilled which can cause it to slip.

The levels are all good it has

The right atf fluid is in it and the levels are good it has to be something with the tranny it's self

Sorry, can you re-state exactly what happens? We're not talking about the transfer case popping out, right? Is the transmission shifter lever moving when this is happening? Or are you driving along and it just starts acting like its in Neutral, and then giving it more gas makes it engage like it's in Drive again?

the word "popping" has us thinking about all manner of weird things.

There's not much to adjusting the linkage I've played with it for a good while and still had the same problems

I'll crank the jeep up let it idle for a little bit. I put the shifter into drive. It will drive for about 50 ft or so then it just idles up and just rolls like it is in neutral (no audible pop or visual thing happens with the shifter) I'll hold the rpms at 2500 to 3000 and then it'll shift back into gear and once it does that I could drive it all day and it would never happen again

Once it "re-engages" in drive, does it drive normally? Or will it do the same thing over and over? Does it do the same thing in reverse?

So I drove it around this weekend and once you crank it up it'll do it once and drive normally the rest of the day but here recently It has been doing it more but once it's done again it'll drive normally the rest of the day. And yes it's the same in reverse and drive

If you initially start it up and let it idle in Neutral for say 60 seconds, does it still act the same way?

In park and it's all good lol I happy that people wanna help

Ok, I specially said to let it idle in neutral because the pump on the 30RH & 32RH don't run with the trans in park. I suspect you've got a problem where it takes a while for your pump to build up pressure, and maybe also that something is bleeding off that pressure (like a bad piston seal or maybe a worn valve?) which is why it takes after 30 seconds it comes back out of gear (so to speak). Once you turn enough RPMS....which is to say once the pump turns enough times....you've built up sufficient pressure that the pump is able to overcome any other issues.

I also wonder if you put it into park and let it idle for a while (how long? IDK 10 minutes? 30 minutes?) would you get back to the initial conditions?

But step one is let it idle in neutral for a while before you actually put it into gear and attempt to drive. Then report back.
