Well, finally made the decision to proceed with upgrading my axles. Have an 05' LJ, dana 44 rear, dana 30 up front, both have LSD, 4.56 gears, on 33's, auto. trans., currie 4" short arm lift.
Going with ARB lockers, (both) chromoly axles (4340), 30 spline (both). Plan to regear again, 4.88 or 5.13, currently my only unsure factor, thinking 5.13 is best in the event I should move up to 35's in the future.
I only have a few thousand miles on the current equipment and changing already....sheesh!
Something about empty pockets I think.
Thoughts on the gear selection and the axles?
Was a suggestion to consider the Yukon zip locker along with the ARB.
Am I overlooking something?
Any input would be appreciated.

As you said, "I only have a few thousand miles on the current equipment and changing already....sheesh!"

You will most likely want to jump up tire sizes from 33s to 35s so go with the 5.13 if that is the best ratio for 35s.

The LJ looks great on 35s. I am currently "trying" to save up some loot to be able to put 35s on my LJ. Lots of upgrades required and you are there. Go for the 35s!!!

Yeah, am thinking the 5.13 would still be a good way to go if I stay with the 33's, the darn things are brand new, all five of them. I still need a body lift and motor mount lift to complete that change.

5.13 is recommended for 33s and the 42RLE, so definitely go with that. It is also the deepest ratio for the Dana 30.
