How do we feel about these?

Made by Q Logic, Crutchfield sells most of their products (these seem to be discontinued on their site)

A quality installer like Don could build a more form fitting enclosure to be installed for less money.

There are better areas to place speakers in the TJ over where than these pods are supposed to be installed.

The question to the OP is, what are your expectations from these pods? What are you hoping to hear that you already do not hear?

i have 5.25 kickers all around and a kicker sub in the factory location.

i plan to add two jl 10's in a subthump box and a jl 5 channel amp for interiors and subs.

feels like the factory speakers in the dash arent really doing anything?

You should swap the front 5.25" coaxials to a set of 5.25" components and relocate the tweeters to the dash area.

@Chris can post a picture of his, which is slightly different than mine, but this is a great way to accomplish better sound. Also, you want a quality 5.25" with a 1" tweeter.

I’ve been thinking about doing that. I thought about moving to 6.5 in the sound bar but I’ve heard having same size speakers is better for sound stage.

Before you buy that JL 5 channel, look at an Audiotec Fischer Match PP 86DSP or 62DSP, or others here, Match or Helix, Brax is way too much loot.

Getting those tweeters on axis is what you want to do, it puts the stage right in front of you, like you were at a concert.

Think of this relocation, 6.5" are better overhead but make that your last upgrade. Better amp and tweeter relocation would be ideal.

Got it, what do you think of the subthump box: https://subthump.com/Jeep-Wrangler-...-clone.html?osCsid=tmjpogf3q30mhkeg7gv80g0in7

Can’t decide if I should ditch the factory sub when I add the box?

Assuming you have available space in the rear, and are cool with that box there. For $200 that is a good buy.

I will say though, map out your system prior to buying anything. You want to get the right amp to match with the speakers.

Also, I use my factory sub, but I also have a dual 10" box in the rear...but if I need the rear space, that sub box can be easily removed.

This is what I have in the back, cost was $300 shipped and included the speakers. There is a quick disconnect so I can easily remove, when needed.

This Ebay post references the PP 62DSP and the seller has a PP 8EQ.

You could offer a bundle for like $500 all-in...and will have a great amp with subwoofer with quick disconnect. This amp is better suited for speakers that draw 2 ohms, so BLAM would be a great option.

thanks, ill take a look!

I tagged you in the for sale section about some tweeters and pods for sale, man, you could get those for a good deal as well and you are on your way to a killer system. You would then need some 5.25" and 6.5" overheard, and those 6.5" do not need an amplifier since they are more for "fill".
