Question for the tire experts

So I am going to a 33 x 15 tire. I want 33x10.5x15. But the BFG are out of stick and backordered around me. So the only option is a general grabber x3 - 33x10.5x15…..
I read some horrible reviews on the grabber- road noise, not good on pavement etc. .
So are there any 33x12.5x15 tires that in reality are skinnier then their 12.5 description ? I know there are 33 tires that are really less then 33. So are there any 12.5 width that are smaller / thinner then advertised ??? Looking for a All terrain.

I'm no tire expert but SimpleTire has them both on their web store and on ebay. I don't think there are any other tires that are close to that one so I'd either wait for your favorite place to get them or buy a set online if you can.

I bought tires last month and found many of the tire vendor websites were pretty useless and didn't tell you what's in stock. They're trying to get you to buy what you want, even if it's been on backorder for a year.

What I ended up doing is calling tire shops. Tell them the size and type (AT) you're looking for. They should then be able to pull up what's actually in stock.

I spoke with someone from a local America's Tire. He gave me the usual speech about how Nitto Trail Grapplers are on national backorder, nobody can get them, etc. Then I told him to pull up my size. He found 4 Nitto TG's in Alabama to his and my amazement.

That's weird, I've seen a lot of good reviews for the Grabber X3, and that they supposedly do pretty well for a mud tire on the road. There are a few folks here with them in 33x10.5, you might try to find them and reach out on their opinions.

As for a 33x12.5 that isn't actually 12.5, you probably would be better off turning to the 275 or 285 metric tire sizes and trying to find something from there that works for you.

Sorry, the biggest I see in 15" is a 265/75 (31).

I love my X3's! Very little road noise, and they preform very well in all conditions for an MT.

Most of the metric options refer to 16" or 17" tires. Not many in a 15".

That's what you're going to find though: Many are no longer making 15". You should move up to a 17" for more selection. Of course, time for new wheels too though.

America's Tire *says* it has those in stock in the KM3. Also has the Toyo MT.

This is going to sound crazy, but you should try amazon for tires. My local tire shop said the duratracs I wanted for my tacoma were on national backorder. I went on amazon and ordered them direct to his shop. They showed up 3 days later.

just curious...what wheels are you using? If you're going to run 10.5 I hope you run something with 5-5.25" backspacing to take advantage of the effectively stock scrub radius. That in itself is the most convincing reason to run 10.5" in my opinion, but if they're installed with 3.75" BS like you would with a 12.5" tire, then the purpose is mostly defeated.
