Rattling when accelerating

There's a very loud rattling when I press down on the accelerator. It appears to be directly correlated to the position of the pedal and not the actual rpms.
Additionally, the rattling occurs on startup, however it doesn't occur if I rev the engine in neutral. I'm not quite sure what's going on, but I've read that some people have this problem but it is coming from the exhaust pipe rattling, but i checked that and it's not the problem. Any help/knowledge?

Could that "rattling" you're describing actually be the engine pinging or knocking?

Rattling/pinging comes from inside the engine, is your rattling coming from inside or outside of the engine?

Ill check later today and let you know! I'd do it now, but I live on campus and my car isn't close enough to justify the walk without needing something else!

Trans mount could be worn.

Plugged catalytic converter or bellhousing shroud maybe.

Pretty sure its a broken catalytic converter. Will update you if it fixes it or not!
