Rear axle knocking

I have been having a problem with my jeep for a while, I have had a knocking from the back of my car, I am unaware where exactly it is coming from. However it is knocking while I drive and is not dependent on the speed, and when I turn the rear axle feel like they skip teeth in the differential (similar that feeling as when you leave your car in 4wd and make a sharp turn on pavement) . I have opened my diff and have noticed that my spider gears are a little worn, and my wheels do no rock back and forth. I have recently gotten new suspension at a larger size, but it was happening before the new suspension.

I have been trying to find out what it is besides going to a mechanic for a few months now, any help would be apprecated.

When you say your rear wheels rock back & forth, do you mean the axle shafts move in and out more than you would expect?

Do you know if your rear axle is a Dana 35 or a Dana 44? What size tires are you running? And just how bad are the spider gears?

what kind of track bar are you running back there? Are you positive it's comoing from the axle internally, or just somewhere in the back?

I am running 33's, i have a dana 44 with a stock rear track bar, and I am not positive that is coming directly coming from the rear axle but biased on feeling and sound it seems like it is coming from anywhere behind the transfercase.

I mean that when I jack up the rear axle and try to rock the wheel to see if the hub is bad it doesn't rock.

Just throwing things out there on the off chance they help.
I'd check the joints on the rear track bar. Maybe just shake it. I recently chased a sound down that sounded like something was literally knocking against the underside of the tub. Ended up being a track bar Heim joint, which you don't have, but it could still be causing a sound and allowing movement during cornering. I found mine by, quite literally, kicking my tire.

Could you include a few pictures of inside the rear differential.
IF you are under the Jeep inspecting the tracbar as suggested by others; look for worn or loose rear upper shock mounts.
