Well guys I feel like an idiot, one of the POs had converted the rear brakes to disc. Pick a phrase “Couldn’t see the forest for the trees” or “If it was a snake it would have bit me.” I’ve rotates tires and even bled the brakes this week and never paid any attention to what was back there until today when I started to work my rear end.

The setup looks like a standard TJ caliper to me but I’m not really trusting my opinions right now. Am I correct this is a standard TJ setup?

I just changed the front brakes to Centric rotors and Black Magic brake pads. Should I do the same on the rear? It’ll probably stay on the jack stands until next weekend if I go with the BM set up, not a big deal since it is an extra vehicle.

This is an ‘04 Unlimited so it has a Dana 44. Let me know if I need other pictures to help with ID.

Those are the factory TJ rear brakes that came stock, not a conversion.

Thank you sir.

I feel like an idiot I had in my head that all of the LJs cam Disc/Drum.

I’ll give you a call tomorrow

They came both ways. There are reports of drums on the Dana 44 since new by some owners. I've yet to see it, but every time I open my mouth about them all being disc, someone shows up to prove me wrong.
