Haven’t been on in awhile. Hoping to find some help. Have a ‘94 wrangler (shown below). Just gave it to my 16 yr old son today. I am looking for the best kind of phone mount for this. Would prefer dashboard mount maybe somewhere above the stereo, but willing to consider windshield mount as well. Want him to not look too far from

This one has worked very well for me. Looks like the clamp could probably grab/attach to the dash below the windshield. They have a number of variations including magnetic versions. A bit spendy, but far more sturdy than any others I've tried, has held on and never dropped the phone, even on the toughest trails, and no suction cup to deal with (they don't hold worth a darn in the AZ heat.

I get a RAM mount that fit the diameter of that bar across the dash and use one of their double socket arms and X-grip. They have worked well for my. My son uses one on his motorcycle too,

There are lots of sizes of their parts, but here's some examples.

I second this idea. I use a RAM mount X-Grip on my bike without any issues at highway(and higher) speeds. I liked the idea of the Quad-Lock systems but then it’s phone specific. New phone means new case means more money. I have $50 into my RAM setup.
