Recommended front axle shafts?

What does the locker have to do with it? They either bind at full lock or they don't and the locker has nothing to do with how far the wheels are turned.

My understanding: The u-joint shouldn't bind more or less in a turn with locker on or off but the longer distance covered by the outer tire in a turn causes the inner to scrub on a hard surface with the locker on (or vice-versa). U-joint bind occurs when the axle turns enough to cause this, which my on may not happen depending on the particular set up.

I'm not doubting what anyone understands, I'm just saying that I'm the guy standing on the obstacle that spotted 100's of rigs at full lock in JV and never a single time witnessed any binding or "lunging".

That includes many with witness marks on the insides of the yokes where the owners failed to test and relieve appropriately. Still no outward indication that there was any inherent bind happening due to an other than smooth delivery of torque to the tires. And everyone knows I'm all about solving and fixing problems and not solving and fixing stuff that isn't a problem.

Hey everyone, I just got my revolution discovery series rear shafts in the mail today and it looks like some of the splines are nicked.

I’ve never bought a set of brand new axle shafts so i’m not sure if this or normal or not. Do you guys think it’s fine or should I call revolution about this? Thanks

The one on the right is fine. The one on the left will probably bind on the splines in the carrier side gear and make it hard to slide in fully. It won't hurt anything if it goes in the correct distance. I'd slide it in, if it fights you, make the call.

Would a quick fix be to take a file to it?
