Removing rear track bar: Need some help, quick

So I’m taking off the track bar and replacing it but I’m an idiot and didn’t get a fork thing to remove the frame side bolt thing on the track bar and now pep boys is closed, is there any other way to remove it because I kinda need to drive to school tomorrow, thanks.

You shouldn't need a pickle fork to remove any part of the track bar. And are you talking about the front or rear track bar? Do you have the other end of the track bar unbolted and loose?

X2 to what Jerry said. You shouldn't need a pickle fork at all for removing the track bar, just basic tools.

I end up using a box end wrench and a ratchet / socket.

Once more, is the other end of the track bar unbolted and loose? Bang HARD sideways on the side of the track bar mount with a BFH to unseat the stud. That is a time-honored way to unseat tapered studs and it's faster & easier than using a pickle fork or tie rod end puller.

This photo shows me using that technique to unseat the tie rod end's tapered stud from the knuckle.

Wow, that is cool. I use a tie rod puller but will give this a shot next time.

P.P.S. Never hit the threaded stud itself whenever trying to unseat a tapered stud. That just mushrooms the stud and will usually just make it fit even tighter and make it more difficult to unseat.

Finally got it out thanks a bunch. Also the new track bar has this little plastic but I guess was protection for shipping or do I need it?

You dont need it.

Mine new track bar had that as well and I kept it. Keeps the dirt away from getting inside.

this well help locking the back area so you can lock or touqe the front bolt
