Repair or replace cold air intake

My Jeep came with one of these cold air intake systems (2005 LJ). I believe the stock airbox was eliminated for space reasons because it has a Highline modification.

As you can see, the connection between the intake tube and the crankcase vent tube has been repaired with silicone of some type, and it has come loose and is just sitting in there.

I know that these cold air intake systems aren't the best, but what are my options here? Is there a reliable way to repair this connection? What's the right way to fix the situation?

The best way would be converting back to stock if possible but in the interim something like this Bulkhead fitting should clean it up.

if your going to repair it, they make a epoxy for abs plastic thats what you want to use.

The problem with using silicone for any repair is it leaves a residue that’s hard to remove and prevents other substances from adhering properly. I would clean well and use JB weld Plastic Weld.

After whatever you use, a good wrap of duct tape can ensure the two stay connected. And then (I would) find a way to return the intake back to a stock airbox & filter.

You could also use an air pipe from an earlier TJ - the crankcase tube went to a fitting that's already present on the pipe.
