Rigid Chase Light

Looking for some insight here.

I ordered a relocation bracket and chase light combo for the Jeep. Seemed like a super simple job until I looked at what RIGID is calling for in its wiring. Can someone help me out here and what I should do? I don't know where to tie all these lines in at. I just want it to function as a third brake light as well as the license plate light. Below is a link to what I purchased and a screenshot from RIGID's wiring directions. What do I need to connect and where and what can I ignore?

Looks to me like you only need to connect the white, blue, and black wires. Did you relocate your license plate so the factory license plate light will no longer work?

Yes, I'm moving the plate to the tire carrier. The chase light has a white LED on the bottom to illuminate the plate. Just not sure what wire it is.

That would be the green wire. The way I read it you'd hook the green & red to the wire that is hot when you turn your lights on.
The white wire to the wire that is hot when you step on your brakes & then the blue wire to the wire that is hot when you put it in reverse & of course the black wire to a good ground. The only one you're not going to use would be the yellow unless you want it to strobe.

Not sure but it'd have to be the green or red, I'd just power one of those at a time to see which lights up the appropriate light.

Get a copy of your FSM (factory service manual) and look at the wiring diagram to figure out which wire to tap into.

Yeah, I've kind of poured through the service manual. I've got the Rigid wiring diagram as well. Just zero luck. When it comes to wiring in any application, my 12-year-old daughter is probably better at figuring it out.

I suppose I'm looking for someone that can walk me through it by the numbers. Where did you tie into the ground? Did you go through the taillight or through the tailgate? I'm leaning towards tailgate as I plan on replacing the stock rear lights with some LEDs.

I'm about ready to tape a flashlight to the rear tire.

That's pretty cool.

I'd set it up for tail light (low power, Red), brake (high power, White) and reverse lights (blue).
