I need to set some M8 rivnuts for a project I have and am curious what you guys use for setting them. I see some people use a combination of a coupling, washers, and long bolt...some use a bolt-cutter like action, some more like a standard rivet gun.

I don’t plan to use these a whole lot but I’ve found a lot of uses for the hand setter I have now (I’d use it but it’s suited for small jobs)

Those hand operated ones are ok, but you'll get sick of it real quick if you have to do a lot of them.

I use something like this at work. I'm sure they're stupid expensive, but maybe something you could rent? I'd check the auto supply places, and any equipment rental outfits.

Yep that would work. You only have 8 to do right now.... Just wait and you'll find all kinds of use for them.
I found that was the case for my hand rivnut setter. Random small projects were I would have had to give up like this China patio furniture my wife likes.
