Rough Country Track Bar

Started having an issue with death wobble. Looked under the Jeep, the tie rod attached to the pitman arm was fully blown out. Replaced it drove it, death wobble was better but not gone. Stopped at a guys house who lived half a mile from me. I never met him but he builds rigs, he really likes Zuki Samurai’s. I gave the Jeep a shake of the steering wheel and he said play in the track bar (I replaced 2 years ago). Then we realized the jam nut had completely backed away from the bar and was snug up against the tie rod side. We were able spin the nut back part of the way but not all the way back to the bar. I got the Jeep home took the track bar down. Twisted the tie rod out of the bar and it appears to be bent. I doubt this was by design but wanted to know if anyone else had the problem. Jeep set up, 2001 wrangler nothing special, 3” spacer lift in the front, 1.5 in the back and a 2” body lift. 35” tires. Dana 30 up front and 40 in the rear.

Thoughts, can’t be by design right? I don’t recall hitting anything and it sits higher than other suspension/steering components.

If its the straighter RC track bar get a good ES 3096L end (Moog) and go hard on the jamb nut or stack 2 together to lock it in-

Was the bar contacting the diff cover or anything else to bend it like that?

I have the RC front and rear trac bar and have had zero issues. I'm not sure why everyone here is so negative on RC. I've beat and seen people beat their stuff harder without any issues.

My first front rc track bar kept coming loose and caused poo yourself death wobble.

My second rc front bar in the style of the o.p.'s kept bending so my steering wheel wouldn't stay centered.

My current rear rc track bar bangs the gas tank skid.but it's possible that could be solved by removing the track bar relo bracket.

Your results may vary but every rough country product I've had either wore out quickly,performed poorly or both. links,joints,springs,shocks,everything....
I don't wheel very often and the rc stuff just doesn't last. From now on every suspension part going on my jeep is going to be currie, or copies of the Savvy stuff.

Do you have adjustable rear control arms? With the straight relocation bracket and adjustable arms, no ones track bar will clear the gas tank skid. When you rotate the axle, the bracket also rotates, moving the track bar towards the gas tank. Jeep never designed the axle brackets to be rotated that much.

There's possibly something else going on that the OP isn't telling. That track bar end is very thick. It would take some serious force to bend it. I'm curious if the end was almost all the way screwed out.

It is an angled bracket. With an sye and adjustable rc arms that have had the joints and bushings fall apart. Thankfully johnny joints fit the arms.

That end is at the frame side, so looks like either the TB was seriously contacting the differential, something got wedged up between it and the axle, or someone hooked to it to pull the Jeep or another rig...
