Hello everyone. I have a question about the rubicon rear differential. I found a set of rubicon axles for sale, but the rear carrier is damaged. I’ve been trying to figure out if the carrier is different than a non rubicon. If I purchase just a bare 3.92 and up carrier can I just swap the components over? Thanks for any info.

Damaged in what way?
And if replacement was necessary wouldn't you want to replace it with a locker?
Carrier damage could ruin the center section of the axle housing and that might be why they're selling it.

I don’t have one. The rubicon axle is for sale and that’s the only picture of the damage. Guy said the axle shaft broke and when he took it apart that’s what he found
I'd get those pictures. If you're lucky it just ate the carrier bearing and race. Although a few of us have run gouged up axles...just not too much.

How far are the axles from you? If close enough take a trip and inspect them!!!!!!!
Depending on the price for both ot may be a good deal.
Check the carrier and housing out real good.
Rubicon lockers are 3.73 and down carriers.They use a thicker ring gear to get a lower ratio.to reuse the ring and pinion you would not use a 3.92 and up carrier. If the guy snapped an axleshaft beating on that relatively weak locker I'd be leary of reusing it. They have a gear driven limited slip that comes apart if not driven gently when the locking portion isn't engaged
