Alright, on the topic of rusted door bolts. We got this 2005 TJ with 3 of the 4 nuts already snapped off of the door hinge bolts. In the attempt to remove the last one, it also snapped off. I've tried hammering the bottom of the bolt with the door open but it wouldn't break free. I've been soaking them in PB blaster for weeks now. Really don't want to have to jack them up. But that seems like it might be the last resort. Any tips?

Charlie I'm trying to picture what you have going on here. Are you talking about the screws that fasten the hinge to the door itself? Or the nuts that screw onto the hinges as an anti theft deterrent? Pic?

Ok that's a fairly common issue and not a huge deal. The only fix is new hinges but most people don't have the desire to buy used OEM hinges and have them color matched and just run without the security nuts.

Now are you wanting to remove the doors?

Yes, I have already bought new pins for it and the little plastic inserts you put in after you take the door off, I just can't lift the door off.

Ok take the limit straps off

Swing the door all the way open being careful not to hit the fender or windshield frame. Now close the door. Now open the door. Do that 28 times while applying upward pressure.

PB blaster is basically useless, you need to soak in kroil once a day for a week. Then try a hammer and chisel. You can try an air hammer, or induction style heater. If you still can't remove the doors, you may not want to hear it, but you will have to use the floorjack+piece of wood method. I was scared to try it myself but it didn't deform or damage my door. Finally if that doesn't work you need to remove the torx bolts on the door hinges themselves, and cut the door pins in half.

Thank you!
