Rusted rear coil spring mounts: replace or relocate?

Hi DizJeep. Yea, those are pretty well worn out and were overinflated, too. I'm getting new tires soon and will be making extra sure that that does not happen again. These were blizzak snow tires and they worked realy, really well here in the mountains on the ice and snow. I will be getting those again for the winter season.

Sorry to resurrect this year-old thread, I've searched quite a bit but it's not a very often covered topic.

Do you recall how much it cost you to have the rear upper coil perches replaced? Obviously shops can vary widely but I need to have mine done and kinda want to have a general idea of what I can expect.

Depending on condition and rust level, it's about 5 hours to do it right. Provided of course that no other rust issues prevent unbolting the body and raising the back of the tub up to cut off the back inboard tab.

However, given the numbers that I see folks tossing around for installing lift kits, I'm sure someone will be along that says they can do it in 2 hours.

I'm not sure what the back inboard tabs are. But I do know that when I was underneath my jeep before purchasing it, I found that besides the fact that the frame was extensively but thoroughly plated, reinforced and painted, the only notable rust was on the mounts themselves. I think. See pics.

I'll admit, I found it strange that since the PO bought it with a rusted frame from the Manheim auto auction with the intent to fix the frame and flip it, that he didn't address the upper coil perches. At least I noticed and was able to get the price down.

The back tab on the inside is blocked by the bottom of the tub so the tub has to be raised to cut it loose from the frame. You can hack it as high as you can reach and run the perch with 3 tabs but that is a hack way to do it.

Ah okay, that makes sense. I'll have to get under there and check it out later today if I can. If that tab is also compromised and I'm insistent on doing a proper job, any idea how much more time I'd be looking at for them to raise the tub to address that tab?

Hiya - quick question please on this, am looking for rear upper and lower mount plates for a 97 TJ. I'm in the UK but I think it'll be cheaper to ship in parts from the States than buy them here. I've used the Quadratec link from above (thanks!) for the upper mount plate, but cannot find the lower mount plates on that site - any ideas please??

Am new at all this and trying to figure it all out, thanks very much in advance for any help.
