Sapiosexual

Well this is a new one

I have no idea who this guy is, but I laughed when I read the headline. Are people just making up terms these days?
I never heard of him either but to answer your question yes, people are making up terms but this one is not really new, I first came across it in around 2012 after re-entering the dating pool following a 20+ year hiatus & found a good number of women described themselves as such on dating websites. My feeling was as it always is, whatever floats your boat, but I steered clear of those boats as dating was hard enough without the extra added bonus of being examined at the same time. Sure we all do that to some extent to begin with but to make it your primary criteria seemed a bit too much for me – I want to have some fun, not turn life into a living Jeopardy match.

On-line dating, interesting & fun but a complete shit-show too, the singles bar of the 21st century

My thought has always been that I don’t care if you are gay, straight, or whatever. It doesn’t make me like you any less.

I will say however that this new idea of coming up with new terms to describe your sexuality seems really silly. To me, it seems like another way of saying, “Please pay attention to me!”

Having said all that, I literally have no idea whatsoever who this guy is, but apparently now he’s getting the attention he wanted by publicly announcing his made up sexuality 🙄

So you see, this whole “pay attention to me” thing works.

This country has gotten ridiculous. Is there a term for a 49 year old dude who’s sick and tired of our society becoming more and more filled with drama queens, attention whores, and people who want instantaneous gratification rather than putting in hard work. Cause whatever that term is, I’m coming out of the closet and identifying myself as such.

Yeah, there are more than a few: racist, bigoted, homophobic, transphobic...

That's called grumpy, and I'm right there with you, only I'm 36 and grumpy :ROFLMAO:

Imagine my bemusement when I learned a couple years ago that I am cisgender. All these years I had no idea how to describe myself. Or that there was a need to.

People are making up bullshit daily. It's mostly for attention, or they're putting their metal disorders on full display for everyone to see.

It's disgusting.

It’s not uncommon in my industry (tech) for people to declare their “pronouns”. There’s a small, but highly vocal, population that seems to shame people into silence or agreement.
