Seat Belt Question

This isn't critical, but I'm frustrated. 8 times out of 10 my seat belt gets caught on the "Nader Nail" (U-Nail? LOL) when exiting the vehicle and the door won't close as the seat belt is in the way. Does anyone have a solution? I'm thinking I gotta replace the driver's side belt because the retract spring is probably tired.... Ideas?

Mine does the same. My solution is I made it a habit to check before closing the door. Now it only happens 7 of 10 times

Get a new seat belt retractor mechanism. I had to yank my belt a couple times occasionally. Get a new one and no more annoying loose seat belt.

Ha, Today I was thinking I need to try some silicone spray (safe for plastic) on my rewinders when this snow storm is over. I used it on my 98 Wrangler and my 2000 Dakota pickup that has the same stickie latchers. Most likely will be an ongoing thing every once in a while, but the plastic straw extension with a quick as I can do blast worked well for that last summer.

Thinking about pulling it out as far as it will go, then try to shoot some juice into the rewinder mechanism and cycle it a few times and repeat. Usually silicone does not collect dust to clog up later after the propellant evaporates.

For comfort I guess ,most late model seat belts are sprung soft .

I have it happen and it bugs me ...I'm going to use a commercial hot melt and try to glue a retainer to the tub along the seat and see if it will keep it out of the strike. If that works , I will consider something permanent , maybe from a Nerf dog frisbee or similar pliable but stiff plastic/rubber.

Try pulling the belt out all the way and hitting it with a small steam cleaner (shark brand is what I have), let dry and then it should work fine. I have found it is sweat and grime that build up on the belt that keeps it from retracting.

Wrap a bungee cord around it and the roll bar to keep it pulled in. LOL
