Can someone verify if these are the correct brackets for a 98 TJ? When I bought the Jeep, the PO said he tossed everything for the soft top when he bought the hardtop. Anyway, he gave me a box with extra mirrors and odds and ends, some that don't belong to Jeeps, and these brackets.

Bestop's Supertop NX kit includes everything you need including the Sailcloth soft top. That's what I am running.

Hey Jerry, just a few questions:
1. Does the door surrounds work with the Arizona Rocky Road mount?
2. Quadratec offers the top in black denim and black diamond. The website doesn't give any specs on either, do you know the difference?
3. Quadratec shows a different bracket than I have. Mine has 1 hole and their picture shows a bracket with 3 holes, you think that would be an issue?

Thanks for any info you can shed!!

Ok, just looked at the website you gave me, I see they include the new brackets, lol.

Yes the OE and Bestop (one and the same) door surrounds work perfectly with the Arizona Rocky Road radio mount, that's what I use. No idea on the difference between denim & black diamond, I'd call Bestop for that answer. The 3 hole bracket in the NX kit allows the tension of the rear support bars to be adjusted. I think I would prefer the heavier gauge of the OE brackets without the extra adjustment holes over what came in the NX kit.

FYI, the three-hole brackets allow for tightening up the top should it relax over time and not be as tight. Oops, too late...

What I noticed about the 3-hole brackets is their extra length makes them not quite as stiff as the OE brackets. And there's some flex at the bracket if the supports are in their outermost (rearmost) adjustment holes. If they were just a slightly heavier gauge steel I'd like them as well as the OE brackets.

Makes sense. I'd go with the oem bracket myself.
