Here in the humid Southeast, we have plenty of that, too.

From an auction I was at yesterday. Leave something sitting for a few years and you wind up with something like this. (that's all lichen, not rust)

I will happily make the trade of rust for lichen. I would have a t-shirt made that said something like "I'm likin' lichen!' or something similarly clever.
