Sound deadening padding

Figured it was time (after TJ being 17 years old), to install new carpeting. The Jeep had front floor and rear side carpet. I decided to go with new carpet all the way thru (except headliner) to include tail gate cover. Is there like a heat shield/noise cancelling padding that others have used and could recommend?

Track down the LJ underhood insulation. It is what the factory used to quiet down the Jeep.

And what happens if and when it gets soaked with rain water, water from stream crossings, etc?
Does it lead to rust under the mat? Anyone?

He was just asking for recommendations. This setup works for me. I never said it was bulletproof.

I don't do any stream crossings & it gets parked in the garage so no rain even when top is off. It's not an issue for me.

Not featured in that picture is when I went back and taped all of the Noico seams with aluminum tape. Obviously is not water proof but will help. EZ cool isn't even taped down so it's as easy as removing. I'm not the only one on here that is 100% willing to recommend Noico. Hell, @Chris had two layers of Noico on his last Jeep.

Fair. Came across a little sarcastic but we'll attribute that to the internet.

Obviously rain and water are a concern but like I said for me it's not an issue. It's something to think about before going that route as it's a bitch to remove. I fucked up the driver side wheel well piece as you can see in the photo and trying to remove it to straighten it out made matters worse. Not a professional install by any means but certainly gets the job done.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have ordered the BEDRUG carpeting, which, of course is pre molded to fit. My TJ is garage kept, and no stream crossings planned, so wate inside should be minimal. For those with the BEDRUG, would it be recommended to add a barrier between rug and tub? Maybe a self adhesive product from Lowe’s????"?
