Spare tire

I was re installing my spare tire on the stock holder and it does not fit
It his all the snubbers but the threads on the holder don’t even stick out far enough to start to thread them!
Please help
I have a 31X15.50R15 on stock wheel

Are you putting on a new wheel with a different back spacing?

A 15.5" wide tire is too wide to fit on the stock carrier. You may be able to cut down the snubbers. What wacky kind of tire comes in 31x15.50"? I am guessing a Super Swamper??

Tire size must be a typo.... Anyway, remove the stock pucks and replace with 3 furniture isolators (link below). You will likely need shorter screws/bolts... This could gain you at least 2 inches on the stock studs depending on wheel backspacing. But if that tire size is correct, depending on the backspacing, which have to be 3" or less, that might not be enough. And then you are looking at an adapter or aftermarket tire carrier
