Stainless Steel Rivets + Panel Adhesive?

@mrblaine Thank you for the explanation....I can live with that! I suppose if I am to apply the panel adhesive I will be using a brush anyway to spread the material around. If I brush some on the bare metal drill holes while I'm at it, it would accomplish the same thing as dipping the rivets, just in a less messy way. I'm on board.

@P man What worries me about weld-thru primer is the panel gap between the welds. Even if I apply seam sealer on the outside seam it seems like there is a bunch of space in between the welds that is dying to trap moisture

Welding or rivets, if you have a gap, close up the spacing on the fasteners.

At the end of the day it is impossible to stop all corrosion from getting in between panels even with people's best Intentions. I have seen quarter panels replaced on newish cars that have mild corrosion already and this is not in a harsh climate. I have seen roof replacements and the entire a pillar is covered in surface rust on a newer dodge. You can't stop it only slow it and I think you are trying too hard I would recommend doing the repair to the best of your abilities and move on not losing sleep over it...by the time it needs done again you will be dead or the jeep will be well on its way to morphing back to where it came from

I used to restore classic mustangs in a past life..they are the biggest piece of shit as far as corrosion control with tons of areas left bare...but yet some of the bare metal areas lasted 50 years with only surface rust..my point being even if you can coat 50 percent you have extended the lift of the repair significantly

the dipping is to put a coating between the steel and stainless to help reduce the dissimilar metals from touching. and it wont hurt as a extra layer of protection and will only use a thimble of sealer.

Definitely wouldn’t hurt. Aircraft corrosion has been a big part of my life the last few years, seems like you’re somebody who has dealt with it plenty first-hand.
