It's always a rabbit hole of, "Hey, might as well do this while I'm in there!".

Like a surgeon ! yeah I just thought of TT last night. Looking to see if one inch drop Ucf diy version is possible with just savvy 1.25 body and 1” MM. I was helping with snow removal in sierras a few weeks back!😂

Gees check out 8.8 beef difference from dana 35. It’s huge .

So the vent tee for the brakes comes right off and all you have to do is use a bolt upside down and weld it on and use some washers and a lock nut. I used the old vent on 8.8 with Dana 35 rubber hose .
At oreilly they sell the bendable brake line (just bend and conform with hand. I used two right sided Explorer calipers from the yard and the zj brake line are perfect fit. I think it was a 99 I got it out of. Just cover the passenger side with aluminum tape if yours is deteriorated after install bc of exhaust . You will need to add another copper washer on the brake line that is flipped if using explorer calipers . Otherwise east coast gear supply is good for brake parts

I’m only running a 2.5 inch lift and 33s. However this 8.8 can accomadate 35s no problem , just add small spacer up front and good to go. I did 4.88s Incase I change tire to 35s. The following tool are very useful in pics . A must is the bleepin Jeep yoke wrench as I’ve broken other on past year swap. Also the c- tool in one pic is great the hammer in the 8.8 carrier only 15$ ebay

I have figured out when welding the brackets months back that 17 degree was too steep for 2.5 ome lift. Probably would better better on 4-6 lift. Bc of this problem I bought 4 rear control arms instead of just uppers. So careful there. I would say 15 is a good number although can’t say for sure. Maybe somebody can chime in here. I found brand new rubicon express all 4 300 shipped. Chris be nice 😊!! Lol
I know I like curry better too !

So I’m using ox lockers front and rear and let me tell you you must use this plate and not kill you self. It’s perfect, just make a template with cardboard and grind out the section of floor. Just grind a rectangle . Take time cutting and look under Jeep to see what your cutting. Stay away from curved area. You’ll know when you see it. Best mod for these “hard to find a place to mount“ manual ox shifters. Not anymore. Best 80 bucks from searchers 4x4 in Louisiana

Is that their suggested placement or just where you figured out that plate would fit? Not sure I'd like the locker shifter under the front of my seat like that.

Now I used the Ucf skid plate ultra high clearance. Currently using the lo pro mount but it possible for me I could go back to standard mount only because my rotating the pinion angle downwards (rare- most people have to angle up) I ran out of shortening on my upper arms and my huge ox diff cover already smashed the tank skid. Ordered the savvy skid for tank as I doubt this will fully help so going back to standard trans mount should allow me now to go upwards to use my upper arms length and shorten the lower arms to move away from tank skid anot more. Ask me how I know all this !!!... the Ucf skid is great but I think it may add some complexity with 8.8 axle. This part I have not finished but will post when done. Little more to come later...

That is there Suggested placement And it works fine compared to anywhere else. I am saying for a CLEAN install It works but I’m sure there more comfortable places to have it for your hand to shift it. This was before I painted it

Oh I used a U.S. gear set Rear and motive in front. No noise or chatter first 100 miles. Hopefully stays like that
And with 12.5 tire width I used 1” hub centric wheel spacers for ford 8.8 since the 7/8” spacers are a rip off and not hub centric (not sure if that matters) and just got some 1/8” on front . Works fine but I have to get shorter studs for 8.8 axles I believe oreilly had them .6” although I would think .7 or .8” may be slightly better

stance is very good

I or rather (a shop) just finished my 8.8. I did cut all the brackets off And prep it for the install with brackets and Brakes. I have a ox in it and choose the co2 activation. So far everything is great. Of course the diff is larger so this weekend I am installing a savvy gas tank skid which along with my body lift wiki raise my tank about an inch. That way my diff will not hit the gas tank skid plate.

I really wish ox would put a drain plug in there 8.8 diff cover. with the weight of the cover and aligning the yolk makes it difficult to not make a mess using RTV.
