I replaced an aftermarket steering damper with Rancho 5407. The bolt length is substantially longer than the non-tapered bolt that was in it before. I feel like a lost over an inch of clearance (I can’t quite get 4 finger widths between). This is even with 2” of lift. The stud appears to have 0.5 inches of taper left but I’d likely strip the stud or nut before it could sink in.
I’ve seen this stud discussed before but never saw whether or not this was acceptable.
