Steering for new front axle

Hello all,

I ordered High Pinion 44 front axle from Currie. it should be coming in next month and I need to figure out what I'm going to do for the following components.

I'd also be interested in upgraded knuckles or at least looking into the cost to see if they fit my budget.

Would appreciate any info on what any of you have done or what you would do.

also has anyone installed one of these Currie high pinion front axles on a TJ with a radius long arm kit. if so did you have to modify the radius arm on the Diff side to go around the Diff?

Run the Currie / RockJock Currectlync steering.

Ditch the crappy radius long arm (if that’s an option).

What width is the axle? Where is the trackbar mount? What size tire? What do you call "upgraded" knuckles?

the axle I purchased is standard width for a TJ 60.5 in.

the track bar mount has been dropped 4 inches with a bracket as the guy before me had a 6 inch lift on it. currently I have 4 inch above stock springs and shocks from Rustys. I also have a Rustys radius long arm kit on it.

tires are currently 35" on 17" rims, when these ware out I was thinking I might go 37'' but its really not necessary.

It is my understanding that when the axle arrives I will need to take the knuckles from the stock Dana 30 and put them onto the new Dana 44. So when I asked about the upgraded knuckles I was assuming that the stock knuckles would become a weak link on the new Dana 44. maybe I should have asked if the stock knuckles should be upgraded.

Stock knuckles are fine. They are the same knuckle as all the TJ's including the Rubicon. It isn't possible to get a stronger stock knuckle.

Get the Rock Jock steering for a TJ or the complete Moog set up for a V-8 ZJ. Either will work fine for 35's. You can endure lots of shenanigans and not get any better steering than those two. Different, not better.

I'd also remove that aftermarket track bar mount if it is truly dropped 4" below what the factory mount is.
