I received my steering shaft riser a few days ago. I finally got around to installing it. The one I ordered was from

There might be other companies that sell them I didn't take the time to look. there is a difference between the 4.0l and the 2.5l Not sure what.
Install was surprising easy with the right tools. It only took me 20 minutes. I used a Milwaukee 3/8" electric ratchet and the nuts holding the pillow block (barring) zipped right off. You can get away with a regular ratchet or even a wrench. I started with that and gave in to the all mighty power tools. I did not have to disconnect the shaft just removed 4 bolts and slid right off.
The ONLY thing I changed was the riser. I debated on waiting for tomorrow when my new steering shafts come in, But I wanted to know if just the riser would make any difference. Well...… It did. to my surprise the steering felt a little better. Not by a huge amount but never the less there was a difference. mostly from making tight turns. normal driving down the road was the same. but when I would make a tight right turn it felt smoother. Same goes with left turns. I still have slop in the wheel so it didn't fix that. Not that I thought it would.
Final Thoughts.
This is an item that is NOT REQUIRED if you have a body lift under 3 inches. However, I think it does do some good and had improved the angle of the steering shaft. It smoothed out my lock to lock turning. And for under $50 it doesn't break the bank.
