Steering shaft riser

I’m interested in this as well. After my body lift, the shaft looks much closer to the body, and much steeper of an angle.

It’s made by M.O.R.E., so it’s got to be good. Seems like more people would be running this.

I spend months researching my body lift and any problems it might cause. This is the first time I have seen this. After looking for my loose wheel issue.

In my case i need a new baring and possibly a new u joint. But if im going to do that i might want to put this in. But i don't want to waste money if i don't have to.

I have a 1” body lift and recently noticed some up/down play developing. Mine temporarily goes away if I pull the tilt lever and push the wheel up, but the play comes back.

Been meaning to do a search and see what can be tightened up to see if that helps, but haven’t gotten to it yet.

Hmm...I didn’t think about that when I did my BL. Funny how you loosen the fan Shroud Screws but not the steering bracket. I’m going to take a look before something develops. Nice heads up!

I have the MORE riser along with a 1.25" body lift and just barely maybe noticed that steering might be a little bit tighter. It's hard to say if it did much of anything.

Was the steering tighter before or after the riser?

Exact symptoms i have. I have not removed the dash yet to look under it but on Friday i have a list to do. I did notice play in the baring under the hood.

On Friday i have a bulb to replace in the cluster and a new antenna to install along with another new radio mounting kit(mine keep braking the tabs. I figured while i have that much off already it will be a good time to inspect.

I installed the M.O.R.E. riser at the same time as the body lift so I can't tell you that it made any difference. It made sense to me to straighten out the steering shaft and it is a relatively inexpensive part. Plenty of people have run a body lift without the riser with no dramatic negative effects, though.

After searching over and over. It look like the shaft barring can only be bought with the lower shaft itself. I might suffer a little bit longer. 200 bucks for each shaft then 50 for the riser. But i think i am going to install it.

I ordered one up. Seems logical that if you raise everything else, you should raise the steering shaft as well. It's a no-brainer I would think.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

By tighter, I mean the steering may be slightly smoother with less slop after the riser. It was so slight that I don't know if it is real or not. Regardless, it isn't hurting anything being there. Maybe I'll get another 6 months of life out of the u joint, when I need to replace it in another decade.
