I noticed the passenger seat being a little wobbly. Turns out upon inspection the seller held out on one floor bolt in the rear of the passenger seat They did spray rhino protection inside, so there was a bit of that to cut out before seeing the threads in the floorboard. I took out the other rear floor bolt to see if it would fit and it wasn't stripped and that was why it missing. But that bolt slid right in. Is this the right replacement kit from region off-road parts? If so, that would explain why one is bigger than the other three bolts..??

So that was not the right one. These bolts threading was too fine, needed a coarse 5/16-18 and these were a fine thread. At least Amazon takes returns.

for $25 it seems like it would be a decent amount cheaper to just get the parts from the hardware store. Nothing special about those bolts.

Am I remembering the factory large one is a Torx? Seems I recall having to buy a T55 or some such to get one out. I would rather have hex head bolts for cure.

I think that link mentioned replacing the factory torx with hex. All the more reason to just go to the hardware store.

I believe they are Torx. I replaced mine with a hex.

Exactly what I started doing! $1.49 for a stainless steel. I just didn't have the T50 to remove the drivers side bolt to find out the threading (7/16-20) by the way. The other 3 are (6mmx1.0)

6mm is about 1/4". The 3 metric seat bolts are not 1/4".

There are no 1.99 stainless bolts in that size that are graded strong enough to be seat bolts. Lest we forget, the larger one is due to the seat belt being bolted to that side and needs to restrain you in a collision.

Well, I looked and it was $3.99 - but you are saying they don't make any price stainless steel bolt that is rated for that.? I certainly don't want to endanger the passengers life.

That is true, they are ¼",they fit into the 6mmx1.0 threading on the tester in my garage and the hardware store. The ones that came in in the replacement were close but coarse threads. I don't remember the exact hole they fit in on the tester, but it was not the same.

They do make high strength stainless fasteners. I buy and use a bunch of them for various things. The problem is they are very expensive to get equivalent strength to Gr. 8 or better. What most miss about socket head screws/bolts is they are typically stronger than Gr. 8 when they are black oxide. That means the larger Torx used on the seat belt side is Gr. 8 or better.

If you go search, a high strength stainless bolt is very difficult to find in a normal hex head and if you do find them, they will be roughly 8 bucks each.

Like you pointed out even at High strength they only have 75000 psi on tensile

I checked it yesterday. The 3 metric bolts are 8mm x 1.25 pitch.
