Looking for recommendations for a floor coating or liner

Ive used both the aerosol and roll on bedliner products and hands down the roll on is the way to go for something as large as a tub.

You guys recommending the roll-on version were right. Out of six cans, despite prodigious shaking of the cans before and during the spraying, only two sprayed properly and the other four started spraying air when the cans were only half-empty. I resorted to holding the can upside down a few times to at least get some of the bare spots covered so it's not going to turn out nearly as well as if I had brushed it on. It's definitely better than it was but like my welding, don't look at the job too closely lol.

I've used spray on and roll on in truck beds and the roll on is far superior.

Thats really odd to me, because @JamesAndTheSahara spray can job in his build thread came out looking great adn he did it in an apartment parking lot. Guess it depends on the quality of the product you use and the prep you put into it. Any pics of yours?

No pics yet. The good news is the dealer is sending me four more cans of the Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner to replace the four bad cans. Only two sprayed properly and emptied the can, the other four started spraying nothing but air once 1/3 to 1/2 of the can had been used. This was despite several minutes of can shaking before starting and nearly continually while spraying. Much of it came out looking like paint, not liner.

The problem is I'm leaving Friday for a weekend desert wheeling trip and I have everything out that was bolted to the floor. So if I don't get those four cans by Wednesday, there won't be time to use them before having to put the Jeep back together. It does look better but there's a lot more work to be done.

Not to mention the spray came out like paint at times and there are some runs in it I need to sand down and respray with the liner.

I'm blaming my unexpected run through the mud in my local mountains for all of this. Never drive through mud without the top on lol. With everything wet inside plus the recent rain we have had, the floors... especially in the back... had developed a lot of surface rust. That's why this whole bed liner process started. Oh well even if I didn't do anything else to the interior it's better now than it was several days ago.

I'd try to get a heavier coating on the driver and passenger floor pan areas as that is where the most wear and tear will occur. Maybe buy a quart of the liner and roll it on in those areas.

From what details the picture shows, you're right, it does look like black spray paint on the tub interior. Glad to hear they are making an attempt to make it right for you.

Guess a little late to this, but I've used Upol raptor line to do a tub in one of my TJ's. They make it a Spray, roll on and aerosol. I used the 1 gallon kit and they included the schutz gun.
