Straight vs Angled Front Sway Bar Links

Hi. I’m in the process of ordering parts to overhaul the suspension on the Jeep. Currently, I have Rough Country front sway links that have a lightening bolt design to them, presumably to not be pulled as much towards the sway bar. When looking at kits, the majority of them are straight, which would cause the link to be pulled towards the sway bar. Is this a bad or incorrect setup? I’ve attached some examples I found on the internet of both setups. Also, for a 3.5” lift, should I grab an adjustable set or just ones that match the length I need (10 inches, measured eye to eye on my current links).

The force between the upper and lower mounts is a straight line regardless of the noodley shape of the link. The only issue might be if the shaped link is pulled straight or collapses under the loads from the sway bar.

Apologies, I think I worded that wrong. I understand the lightening bolt design is straight concerning load, but I’m wondering if the straight link on the other picture I attached is an okay setup. With a straight link, it’ll be pulled to the sway bar. I’ve seen a few Jeeps that look like that, I just wanna ensure it’s acceptable before purchasing.

Sounds good to me. Thank you! Any thoughts from you or @jjvw on adjustable links? Teraflex sells a 10” set, but I’ll go adjustable if it makes more sense. No plans to change lift or anything if that helps/matters.

I’ve looked into it, but man it’s pricey. I’m good with putting money into reliability, but not so much with an upgrade that I won’t take full advantage of.

The Swayloc gets you all the benefits of an Antirock with a stiffer street setting that is better behaved than factory. Go this route and you aren't thinking much about the links anymore.

SwayLoc is one of the best improvements I have made on my TJ...many of the mods we consider are focused on improving off-road performance, the SwayLoc gives you that for sure, but the on-road performance is night and day different than stock, truly the best of both worlds...
