Strange intermittent running issues

I have a couple of issues with my 2005 Tj 4.0 that I just can’t seem to nail down.
First is an intermittent issue that usually only presents itself with the a/c on but, will occasionally do it without it on. Just seems like it does it more often with a/c on. Only way I can describe it is that it’s like the engine coughs. Complete loss of power and, the speedo and tach bottom out when it does it. It’s just a split second and it levels out and goes on. CEL will flash while this is happening for just a second. There are no codes stored except for last week it did it several times in a row and the code it logged was P0068. I have already repaired all vacuum leaks as I was repairing all the leaks associated with the HVAC system. I just replaced everything.
I was doing more diagnostic with a think car diagnostic tool I borrowed from work this morning and everything is working as it should. I’m out of ideas. I’ve checked for vacuum leaks several times and have found nothing. I still sometimes though get a high idle situation when pulling up to stop. Tap the throttle and it settles but, it’s intermittent and random as well.
Second issue but I’m assuming related is that when operating the winch. When just running cable in or out with no other load the engine will immediately go to a really high idle. Soon as I let go of the button it will idle normally. Weird. I apologize for the lengthy post. I am just trying to get all the information out there.
Also I forgot to mention that when it’s idling high, it has a surge to it. Again, all intermittent with no logged codes.

Your PCM is on the way out. When the gauges drop to zero, your engine is off. Because you have a MT, it restarts itself.

Known issue on 05 and 06 PCMs which are junk.

@Wranglerfix has the solution in an adapted PCM that doesn't have these issues.

The idle issue is most likely the PCM trying to keep the voltage up by upping the idle.

That’s what I was thinking honestly. I just didn’t want to miss any other steps. I emailed Mark this morning.

Talked with Mark yesterday and, he’s an awesome guy. Pulled the trigger this morning and have one coming. I very interested in getting this on and testing it.

Just wanted to report that the pcm arrived today and, I installed it after work. 100% took care of my issues. Did a long test drive and the engine definitely runs better with no lag going from gear to gear. Connected the winch controller to test function and the engine didn’t go to high idle at all. Ran with the a/c on with no issues or hiccups. Thank you @Wranglerfix
